The designer behind Sole Brother Customs dropped a line to tell us about his latest work, the Miami/Amsterdam Adidas Stan Smiths. These customs were made for a client who moved from Amsterdam to Miami recently and wanted to celebrate these two cities. The right shoe celebrates the warm weather, unique foliage and stunning skyline of Miami. The exterior side captures a line of palm trees along with the afternoon sun peaking through the leaves. Sole Brother portrayed the metro skyline of Miami from the Atlantic Ocean on the right interior side.

The left shoe shows what Sole Brother’s client was leaving behind in Amsterdam. Sole Brother used the exterior side to create a row of houses that could be taken from any street in the city. The interior side represents the windmills spread throughout the Netherlands.
S4 of Sole Creations created the Alpha Kappa Alpha Adidas Superstar II for his girlfriend. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Superstar II celebrate her membership in the noted sorority back in 2001. I found these photos at the Sole Creations Customsnkr.com blog linked here.
The Alpha Kappa Alpha Adidas Superstar II are covered in inside jokes and personal references that are delightful to view. The left heel features “Alpha Kappa Alpha” in black cursive lettering and the sorority’s founding date (1908) set against a pink backdrop. The right exterior features block lettering that says “AKAtude” to represent the sorority’s attitude.
The interior side of the left heel has the year 2001 printed in pink to represent the wearer’s first year of membership. S4 added inside elements like an exaggerated “Skee!” call and a pinkie held up in the air for his girlfriend’s benefit. I love the pink and green checkerboard pattern on the tongue that tops off these custom Adidas Superstar II. As graduation season comes and goes, we will think about our own school experiences. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Adidas Superstar II may reference a single person’s experiences but they represent our memories of the best times at school.

The 3M underlay seems to emphasize the bright future of this design as it leads the world into the next generation of creativity and beauty. Who wouldn’t love this? But unfortunaterly, we need to wait a while before there’s any detail on when or how we can get these.
Tekneek Custom Sneakers and Apparel has come out with some custom Adidas to celebrate the Buffalo Bandits. The Bandits are members of the National Lacrosse League which plays indoor lacrosse in cities throughout North America. Tekneek Customs posted its latest customs at the Facebook page linked here.
The Buffalo Bandits were the NLL champions in 2008, defeating the Portland Lumberjax 14-13. Tekneek Customs celebrates the Bandits’ victory in style with these custom Adidas. The toe box features the Bandits logo, a masked man looking suspiciously at the viewer. Tekneek painted the rest of the shoe black and orange to match the team’s colors without going overboard with the Bandits theme.
